Ashford Shore at golden hour, an oceanfront cedar-shingle estate set behind dune grass

East Hampton · The Hamptons · New York

The Shore.
The House.
The Season
Done Properly

A private oceanfront estate in East Hampton — designed by Caroline Ashford with the unhurried confidence of someone who has spent every summer here.

The Estate

East Hampton.
At Its Most
Considered.

There is a version of the Hamptons that everyone knows — the one on magazine covers and in social columns. And then there is the version that the people who have been coming here for generations actually live: quieter, more considered, and infinitely more beautiful. Ashford Shore is emphatically the second.

Caroline Ashford spent two years working with a Southampton-based design studio to create a residence that honored the specific visual language of the East End — shingle and white trim, cedar allowed to age with complete dignity — while feeling entirely contemporary inside.

From Our Guests

What They Said
When They Left.

We have rented in the Hamptons for fifteen summers. Ashford Shore is the first house we have ever considered returning to exclusively. The design is extraordinary — it has the specific feeling of a house that was designed for living in rather than photographed for a magazine, which is the rarest thing in the Hamptons.
William and Catherine B.Manhattan
Caroline has created something genuinely rare — a house that feels simultaneously like the most considered private residence and the most seamless hospitality experience. The morning light on the Atlantic from the primary suite is something I have thought about every day since leaving.
Alexandra M.London
We hosted a family gathering of twelve at Ashford Shore for a long weekend in August. Every bedroom was exceptional. The pool terrace dinners were the best of the summer. The team was available, discreet, and went above and beyond at every turn.
The Harrington FamilyGreenwich, Connecticut
The combination of this house, this location, and this level of management is exceptional. The difference is the feeling that someone who genuinely loves this property is responsible for it. That comes through in every detail — from the welcome flowers to the way the linen is pressed.
